Webinar Overview:

Developing firmware in Rust is rapidly gaining traction thanks to its safety guarantees, performance, and modern tooling.

This webinar introduces the essential components of an Embedded Rust toolchain, from the minimal setup through to interactive debugging and logging.

Doulos Principal Member Technical Staff, Dr David Cabanis will:

  • Explore how to configure and extend Rust with rustup, cross-compile with Cargo, and leverage LLVM-based utilities for inspecting binaries
  • Show traditional embedded workflows, such as flashing with st-flash or OpenOCD, and debugging with GDB, alongside modern conveniences like cargo-generate, cargo-embed, and RTT-based logging
  • Provide insight into emulation options such as QEMU and Renode, and how to seamlessly integrate these tools into their development environment

Whether you are new to embedded Rust or looking to streamline your toolchain, this session will provide practical knowledge to get you productive quickly.
