Doulos at the February Zephyr Project Meetup

February 2026|News

We’re pleased to highlight the Doulos upcoming talk at the Zephyr Project in-person community meetup, taking place in Winterthur, Switzerland, at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences.

Part of the Zephyr Community Meetup Series, this evening event brings together engineers, researchers, and open-source enthusiasts working across embedded systems, real-time software, and dependable low-power design. The meetup offers a relaxed but technically rich environment for learning, discussion, and collaboration within the Zephyr ecosystem.

Don’t Miss: Zephyr Optimisations: through the looking ~glass~ code

by Doulos Senior Member Technical Staff, Loïc Domaigne

Our very own Loïc Domaigne, will present this talk and explore a reality every embedded developer eventually encounters: what runs on the target is not always what the source code suggests. Through practical examples and demonstrations, Loïc will dive into the optimisation techniques Zephyr uses to improve performance and reduce code footprint, including:

  •  Conditional compilation and the role of autoconf.h
  •  Devicetree macros - and where they really shine
  •  Rethinking abstraction layers for simple tasks
  •  A touch of “SysV voodoo” and what it means in practice

This is a must-attend session for developers who want to better understand what Zephyr is doing under the hood and how those mechanisms affect real-world systems.
